Sharmah Brooks, a right-hand allrounder who bowls legspin, was appointed captain of West Indies' Under-19 squad for the World Cup in Malaysia in 2008. He made his Under-19 debut in January 2006, took three wickets against Pakistan, and was also part of the squad that took part in the Under-19 World Cup in Sri Lanka in 2006. He made the step up and played his first first-class match for Barbados in 2007. Brooks wants to be an electrical engineer if not a cricketer. Cricinfo staff February 2008
