Profile
Luke van Troost was primarily a middle order batsman although in the 2003 World Cup in South Africa he did open the batting against Australia (hitting 23 from 33 balls). His left-arm medium pace served his side well over the years providing good variation to the Dutch attack. He led the national side for four years, and quit after the 2007 World Cup, bowing out on a low as, being one of the selectors, he dropped himself for the final match of the tournament. His brother Andre was a fierce right-arm quick bowler who played for Somerset. He is headmaster of a school for special education in Holland. Alan Curr April 2007
