Lancashire v Yorkshire at Manchester, Aug 8-11, 2006 scorecard |
Son of Steve, who played for Yorkshire seconds and England Under-19s, James is a fast bowler highly regarded by the club who was plucked from 2nd XI cricket aged 17 to make his first-class debut in 2006. "In the dressing room at Derby last week, I looked round and I had Craig White on my right and Jason Gillespie on my left," he said at the time. "I had to take a bit of a reality check half-way through. I thought 'am I really here?' Six or seven of the players had played 100 first-class games. "I was really looking forward to it. It was a bit of a let-down when the rain came down but I was delighted just to be involved. I can't wait for this game."
He was selected in England's squad for the Under-19 World Cup. Will Luke February 2008
