Division Two Points TableOnly three overs were possible between Essex and Somerset, in a frustrating day at Colchester. Those three overs were eventful for Essex, as Alastair Cook fell to the seventh ball of the day, leg-before to the left-armer Robert Woodman. Essex are 19 points behind Division Two leaders Durham, and just three points ahead of Yorkshire, who have a game in hand. Speaking to the BBC's website, Ronnie Irani, Essex's captain, was understandably frustrated: "In our position, we are desperate to play and can ill afford days of inactivity like this."
