Profile
Ewald Steenkamp has been keeping wicket for Namibia Under-19s for two years and his batting has improved enough for him to start pushing for a place in the senior squad. In the 2007 Under-19 African Championship he struck 82 not out as his team slumped to a group stage defeat at the hands of Kenya in a match where the next highest score was 19. He averaged 50 in the tournament. Steenkamp generally bats in the top six and usually stands up to his side's medium-pace bowlers. Both his uncles represented Namibia at the senior level.
