Glamorgan rename Sophia Gardens

Glamorgan have announced that they will be renaming Sophia Gardens the Swalec Stadium after agreeing a £1.5 million ten-year sponsorship deal.

"This is of enormous importance to Glamorgan Cricket Club," said chairman Paul Russell. "It is now an iconic stadium and everything we've planned has turned out. It is on time, on budget and looks stunning."

The £9.5 million redevelopment will increase the capacity from 5,500 to 15,643.
