A magnificent century from Dale Benkenstein put the Dolphins in command against the Warriors at Kingsmead on the second day. Walking in after Tyron Henderson had fired out the three top-order batsmen to reduce the Dolphins to 57 for 3, Benkenstein counter-attacked on his way to a 159-ball 117 which featured 15 fours and three sixes. After reaching his 50 in 91 balls, he scored run-a-ball and added 161 runs for the fifth wicket with Jon Kent, who remained unbeaten on with a patiently compiled 64. Earlier, Ugasen Govender cleaned up Nantie Hayward to end the Warriors's innings at 211. Burton de Wett remained unbeaten on 54.

Scorecard

After vital half centuries by Boeta Dippenaar(55), Loots Bosman(51) and Ryan Bailey(85*) helped Eagles to a healthy 418, Thandi Tshabalala, captured two wickets to reduce the Lions to 104 for 3 at close of play. Starting the day at 217 for 2, the Eagles were in a degree of discomfort when Garnett Kruger claimed two wickets to peg them back to 255 for 5, but Bailey stringed together to series of partnerships with the lower-order batsmen to take his team past 400. Adam Bacher and William Motaung got the Lions to a good start, adding 71 for the first wicket, before Bacher was stumped for 41 off Tshabalala.

Titans 166 for 6 (Cullinan 92*) trail Western Province Boland 431 for 7 dec (Tsolekile 90, Puttick 87) by 265 runs
Scorecard

An unbeaten 92 from Darryl Cullinan saved the Titans from a total rout at Boland Park in Paarl, but Western Province Boland were still in the driver's seat at the end of the second day. Chasing an imposing first innings score of 431, Western Province were reeling at 55 for 6, with Charles Willoughby claiming three of them in his opening spell when Cullinan found a willing partner in Goolam Bodi and the pair added 111 runs without being separated with Cullinan doing bulk of the scoring. Earlier, Thami Tsolekile (90) and Vernon Philander (69) stitched together a sixth-wicket partnership of 126 to allow Western Province to declare at 431 for 7.
