Nigel Llong to leave Kent County Cricket Club

KCCC Press Release

October 20, 1999

Kent County Cricket Club today confirmed that it would not be offering Nigel Llong a contract for the 2000 season. Since the end of the 1999 season the Club had been in discussions with Nigel about a possible one-day contract. As a result of these deliberations, both the Club and player concluded that the best possible way forward was for Nigel to look to furthering his career outside the county.

Commenting on this decision, Paul Millman, Kent's Chief Executive, said:

"Nigel has made an outstanding contribution to the Club since he made his debut in 1991. We have discussed a possible one-day contract with Nigel but have concluded that, at the age of 30, he has a great deal to offer to another county. We would like to thank him for all he has done for Kent over the years and we will do all we can to help him further his career in cricket."
