Railways 6 for 0 trail Assam 362 (J Arunkumar 138, Bordoloi 73, Saravanan 45, Kartik 5-46) by 356 runs
Scorecard
Jagadeesh Arunkumar played a captain's knock for Assam, as his 138 took his side to 362 against Railways at Guwahati. Murali Kartik, the Indian left-arm spinner, was rewarded with a five-wicket haul in a 38-over toil, in which he conceded only 46 runs. Kartik broke the 180-run stand between Arunkumar and Nishantha Bordoloi, who made a stubborn 73 off 336 balls. All the Railways bowlers were made to work hard for their wickets, in particular Jai Prakash Yadav, whose marathon 43 overs yielded just one scalp. Railways batted out just the two overs before stumps, finishing at 6 for no loss.

Kerala 122 for 2 (S Ramesh 71*) trail Madhya Pradesh 307 (Bundela 106*, Suresh 4-49) by 185 runs
Scorecard
Sadagoppan Ramesh, the former Indian opener, led Kerala's response to Madhya Pradesh's 307 with an unbeaten 71 on day two at the Fort Maidan in Palakkad. Devendra Bundela, MP's No.3, held his team together with an unbeaten 106, his 12th first-class hundred, on a slow turner earlier in the day. MP had reached 273 for 6 a half hour before lunch when Somasetty Suresh, the veteran medium pacer, ran through MP's tail with his some unsettling variations in length and finished with 4 for 49.

Vidarbha 237 for 3 (Acharya 118*, Deshpande 99) trail Goa 306 (Asnodkar 80, Redker 73, Atram 4-51) by 69 runs
Scorecard
An enterprising 197-run partnership between Madhusudan Acharya and Amit Deshpande took Vidarbha to withing 69 runs of Goa's first-innings 306 on the second day's play at Margao. While Deshpande, Vidarbha's wicketkeeping opener, was unfortunate to be dismissed on 99, Acharya, 22, reached his maiden first-class hundred and finished the day unbeaten on 118. Chandrashekhar Atram, Vidarbha's young left-arm spinner, struck three blows as Goa, overnight on 258 for 6, lost Rohit Asnodkar (80) and Damodar Redker (73) - both career-best efforts - in the first session.

Orissa 262 and 10 for 0 lead Himachal Pradesh 211 (Bisla 50, Mohanty 4-44) by 61 runs
Scorecard
Debasis Mohanty, the former Indian fast bowler, and Sanjay Satpathy, the offspinner, shared seven wickets to dismiss Himachal Pradesh for 211 and help Orissa to a 61-run lead on day two at Dharamsala. The duo combined to reduce HP to 112 for 7, despite a 77-ball 50 from Maninder Bisla, the wicketkeeper, before a lower-order rally from Sarandeep Singh (34) and Ashok Thakur (37 not-out). In their second innings, Orissa reached a sedate 10 for no loss from seven overs.

Jammu & Kashmir 208 for 3 (Kavaljit Singh 63, Bhatt 50, Dhar 41*) trail Jharkhan 242 by 34 runs
Scorecard
A sedate display from Jammu and Kashmir's top order yielded just 189 runs on the second day's play of their Elite Group match against Jharkand at the Keenan Stadium in Jamshedpur. In reply to Jharkand's 242, J&K had finished day one on 19 for 1, but after captain Arshad Bhatt fell for a 100-ball 50, the remaining batsman just shut shop. Kavaljit Singh, the wicketkeeper, made 63 from 174 balls, while Majid Dhar laboured 240 minutes and 200 balls for an unbeaten 41. J & K still trail by 34.

Services 156 for 5 (Yashpal Singh 66*, Saha 4-56) trail Tripura 178 (Mohanty 5-33) by 22 runs
Scocecard
Yashpal Singh's unbeaten 66 carried Services to within 22 runs of Tripura's first-innings 178 on the second day at the Palam A Stadium in Delhi. A career-best 5 for 33 from AK Mohanty helped dismiss the remaining three batsmen early in the day, but Services ran into trouble themselves. Tushar Saha, the 21-year old left-arm spinner, spun out for batsman before Yashpal came to Services's rescue.
