Akhtar and Sohail star for Pakistan Seniors

Pakistan Seniors 255 for 3 (Akhtar 84*, Sohail 60, Kazmi 51) beat India Seniors 251 for 9 (Prabhakar 68, Kaypee 65) by 7 wickets

Pakistan Seniors thrashed the touring Indian Seniors by seven wickets in the second one-dayer at the Jinnah Stadium to level the four-match series 1-1.

After being sent in to bat, the Indian Seniors scored 251 for 9 in their stipulated 40 overs. Manoj Prabhakar and Amarjeet Singh Kaypee batted tremendously. Prabkhar stayed at the wicket for 103 minutes and scored 68 with the help of nine fours while Kaypee scored 65 with eight fours while consuming 70 balls. Mohammad Azharuddin, the captain, and Vivek Razdan scored 25 and 26 respectively. Pakistan Seniors captain Abdul Qadir and Mohammad Riaz captured three wickets each.

In reply, Pakistan Seniors' opener Aamer Sohail played magnificently, scoring 60 with the help of 12 fours. Ghaffar Kazmi scored 51, hitting six fours and one six. Mansoor Akhtar scored 84 off 68 balls with the aid of ten fours and three sixes and Ameer Akbar posted 23, with both of them remaining not out. Sanjeev Sharma, Sukhwinder Singh and WV Raman took one wicket each.

Pakistan Seniors' Mansoor Akhtar, adjudged as the Man of the Match, was also given the prize for hitting maximum number of boundaries.
