 Profile

Yasas Tillakaratne, the brother of former Sri Lanka captain Hashan Tillakaratne, is a batting allrounder who bowls leg spin. His first-class opportunities - average of 31.33 over a 10-year career - have been limited by his professional commitments in UK and Australia where he has excelled for a variety of clubs, both as a player and more recently as a coach. His nine-year career as a club professional in the UK include successful stints in the North Lancashire, Surrey and Durham Leagues. In the mid-1990's he pushed hard for international recognition too, winning places in various development squads as well as the Sri Lanka Under 24 and Sri Lanka A squad. Was also contracted to play first-class cricket in Bangladesh for Uttara CC.
