Australia v India, 4th Test, Adelaide, 4th day
Ravi Shastri: Harbhajan Singh was a huge disappointment
January 27, 2008
Ravi Shastri feels Australia batted brilliantly to get out of the woods in Adelaide, and that now there are only two possible results - a draw or an Australian victory. For India, Ishant Sharma has been the real star on this tour, and the good form of Irfan Pathan is a promising sign. With one day to go, it's up to the Indian batsmen to deny Australia any chance of a victory

I refuse to believe an Indian victory is not possible. If an Australian win is possible, so is an Indian win. It all depends on how India bat. If they can get quick runs and give Australia a target of 290-300 runs batting last in two sessions to chase, anything can happen. Of course, India will be hoping Anil Kumble is fully fit to bowl, because he will be the key on the last-day wicket. I hope RP Singh can come back to bowl in the second innings, but it looks unlikely.

They might as well ask Ishant sharma to open the batting...if their intent is to throw one wicket away when Rahul Dravid comes to bat... So ill-logical decision... What is their point (that Irfan would score a century and save the match !?!)

With all the scrutiny over the Australian behaviour on-field of late, I am dismayed not to see any action taken against the Indians today.
I believe it was Dinesh Karthik who was on the ground as a substitute fielder when Michael Clarke was batting. The first incident was his animated finger pointing at Billy Bowden after Billy declined an appeal for bat-pad catch. How in the heck can a player get away with that level of aggression towards an umpire? Was he telling Billy "dont screw up, see what we did to the last umpire that messed with us?" If an Australian was involved surely there would be a public hanging!
The second incident also involved Karthik (or however the sub was). As the players departed the field, Ponting and Singh shared a joke which was lovely to see, however Karthik tried to stare down Michael Clarke then seemed to spit in his direction! That's outrageous!
