Wisden Cricketers' Almanack 2008

What Duncan did for us

Duncan Fletcher stepped down as England's coach after the 2007 World Cup. He experienced the highs - orchestrating the Ashes triumph of 2005 - and the lows - the 5-0 thrashing in the 2006-07 rematch - during his time with the England team. Andrew Strauss, one of the players he successfully introduced to international cricket, assesses Fletcher's contribution

You've done well - play two more Tests

New Zealand's first Tests in England came on their tour in 1931. Originally there was only supposed to be one Test, at Lord's, but the Kiwis performed so well there that two more were added

Search the archive Below you can search Wisden's unique cricket archive, which dates back to 1864. Just enter your search term and click 'submit'. About the archive and Cricketers of the Year index

Browse editions Since 2004, each Almanack contains details of all the international cricket played in the previous calendar year - so the 2006-07 Champions Trophy, which took place towards the end of 2006, appears in Wisden 2007. Until 2003 the Almanack covered the cricket played in the previous year's English summer, and the overseas season that preceded it - so, for example, the 2002 Wisden covers the cricket played in England in 2001 and overseas in 2000-01.
