Moors-BRC match abandoned

Bad weather forced the BRC versus Moors SC Premier League Limited Overs match to be abandoned in the 20th over of the second innings at Braybrooke Place today.

Moors were 81 for 4 wickets in reply to BRC's 145 for 9 in 31 overs. Moors were required to chase 148 after the match was interrupted by rain and the overs were reduced from 35 to 31 overs.

After a delayed start at 12.45 pm BRC slipped to 77 for six before recovering thanks to a to an unbroken last wicket partnership of 48 runs between Duncan Arnolda (46*) and Sajeewa de Silva(11). Arnolda's knock contained three huge sixes and three fours. BRC lost four wickets to run outs.

Left arm lspinners, Sanjaya Rajapakse and Rangana Herath, shared two wickets apiece for Moors SC.

Needing just over 4.5 runs an over for victory Moors faltered after a first wicket stand of 37 from 6 overs. However, after losing opener, Dhammika Rajapakse, Moors lost wickets and looked to be heading for defeat when bad light curtailed the match.
